Sazerac Cocktail
The Sazerac Cocktail is one of my favorite whiskey cocktails. The simple yet potent cocktail is one of the, if not the oldest cocktails in the United States. The mystery, intrigue, and sophistication of the cocktail will make a Teetotaler curious.
Texas Lemonade
Summertime in Texas can be brutally hot at times. So hot some people say they can’t drink whiskey. Lemonade though is an ice-cold drink that will be your best friend on a hot summer day. It is a tangly, delicious, and savorous drink that pairs perfectly with a strong bourbon to make Texas Lemonade.
Treaty Oak Mint Julep
The Treaty Oak Mint Julep should be appreciated all summer long. It is a brisk, invigorating, delicious cocktail that screams summer.
Iron Wolf Big Tex
For most of us Texans when we hear Big Tex it brings memories of the 52′ Cowboy and fried food from our beloved State Fair. Well, this cocktail ain’t fried, but it is big on flavor. The Iron Wolf Big Tex is a bold citrus forward cocktail guaranteed to quench your thirst on a hot day.
Teetotaler Cocktail
It is a bit ironic, but not surprising to have a cocktail named after the practice of alcohol abstinence. The Teetotaler cocktail named after teetotalism came about…who knows.
Bertie’s Gold Rush
This a modern cocktail variation of the whiskey sour. Variation is a strong word. Basically, a whiskey sour with an ingredient swapped and another left out. The Bertie’s Gold Rush is simple in ingredients yet complex in flavor. A balanced blend of sweet, sour and bourbon!
Cowboy Coffee
We borrowed the recipe from our friends at Caffe Del Fuego. The Cowboy Coffee sounds tough as nails but will surprise you with its softer side.
Man O’ War
The Man O’ War is a drink for a stud. As in the legendary American Thoroughbred. Man O’ War is one of the greatest racehorses of all time. Like the legend, of its name, this cocktail will be a fan favorite.
Suffering Bastard
The suffering bastard created by a hungover bar steward in the 1940s. Designed as a cure for someone suffering from a hangover. Like the many before us, we have adapted the recipe. We can promise you won’t suffer while drinking this cocktail.
The Boulevardier
The Boulevardier is a Negroni with bourbon instead of gin. The Boulevardier first appeared in Harry’s 1927 bar guide, Barflies, and Cocktails.
Whiskey Hurricane
The Whiskey Hurricane is a boozy sweet fruit bomb that will liven up any party. This cocktail is our take on the Hurricane Cocktail, made famous by the Pat O’ Briens bar in New Orleans.
Beggars Banquet
Light and drinkable. Bourbon present with a creamy froth. Rounded by a hint of syrup sweetness. These are not what I would have thought when I stumbled upon the beggars banquet on liquor.com.
Bourbon and Pineapple Cocktail
The Bourbon and Pineapple (BAP) is a whiskey pineapple cocktail. This drink follows the model of a whiskey sour, minus the lemon juice. An airy and invigorating libation with a punch.
Whiskey Tropic
A Caribbean rum cocktail and a Friend of the Festival inspired this drink. The Caribbean cocktail we are using as a guide is the Corn N’ Oil. That drink uses blackstrap molasses rum. Since we use whiskey we will call this cocktail Whiskey Tropic.
Sexy Bastard
The story of the sexy bastard is a common tale of trial and error. Born from an odd mix of ingredients. This booze packed rosé and orange juice whiskey cocktail will leave you feeling sexy.
Whiskey Sour
Whiskey Sours are part of the citrus-based cocktail family known as sours. There’s a simple structure behind this group of drinks. A spirit, lemon or lime juice, and a sweetener. Common sweeteners include Triple sec, simple syrup, or grenadine. As the name suggests, it is sour. However, the sweetness of the whiskey and simple syrup balance the flavor, so it’s not as tart as you think.
Bourbon Spiked Ice Coffee
My friends at Devils River Whiskey gave me a few recipes. Out of the four, they mixed up the bourbon-spiked ice coffee is the one that excited me.
