Chambord Manhattan
This is a variation of the classic Manhattan cocktail.
The Chambord Manhattan
Chambord is a French black raspberry liqueur. Nice fruit-forward and smooth flavor.
The Chambord website suggests using bourbon, but you can use any whiskey you want. I used Kooper Family’s Sweetheart of the Rodeo. The family focuses on selecting the best whiskeys to age, blend, and bottle. The whiskey may come from another state, but the Texas climate and art of blending make their whiskey what it is.
This bourbon has citrus and caramel in the nose. Floral and orange notes on the palate. Caramel and honey accents on the finish.
Those are marvelous notes to add to black raspberries.
Ingredients
2.25 oz bourbon
.75 oz Chambord
2 dashes bitters
1 cherry for garnish.
How to make the Chambord Manhattan
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well to chill. Strain into a glass and garnish with the cherry.
