Rye & apple brandy old fashion

Our rye & apple brandy old fashion is a variation of the whiskey drink American Trilogy.

Rye & apple brandy old fashion

The American Trilogy gets its name because it is using ingredients made in America. While we are too, it is still an old fashion cocktail. Combining a base spirit, sugar (simple syrup), and bitters.

For this, we are using Yellow Rose Distilling’s Rye Whiskey. The early version of their rye whiskey was sourced and bottled, the team at Yellow Rose is moving it all in house. So, yes we can expect to see their grain to glass rye whiskey on the shelves.

If you have not explored the whiskey from Yellow Rose yet, you should. This rye took home the silver buckle at our inaugural festival and a bronze at the 2019 festival. Their Outlaw bourbon took home gold one year. The distillery has also won a bronze buckle in the coveted people’s choice award.

For this cocktail, we are using E&J Apple Brandy. It may not be the best, but it serves its purpose for this cocktail.

The rye & apple brandy old fashion is apple forward on the nose, but the rye comes out in the taste. Be careful on your dashes of bitters. To much and you will have the bitter finish.
