Canadian Sneak

The Canadian Sneak is a creation from Heather Greene. The combination of maple syrup, cinnamon, bitters, and rye whiskey create the perfect fall cocktail.

Heather is a whiskey expert, author of Whisk(e)y Distilled. A Populist Guide to the Water of Life, and CEO of Ben Milam Whiskey in Blanco, TX. Heather is also one of the world’s only certified female Scotch whiskey experts. Bottom line is she knows her stuff. So, we decided to try it.

If you are not familiar with Ben Milam Whiskey, shame on you. Located in Blanco, close to Andalusia Whiskey Co. and Real Spirits Distilling they are part of the Texas Whiskey Trail‘s Blanco Hat Trick and worth a visit. A nice little tasting room that is family and pet-friendly.

Ben Milam is blending tradition, art, and science to create a little magic. From distilling their own whiskey to sourcing for phenomenal blends they make good whiskey. Bourbon fans can rejoice with their Single Barrel and Barrel proof versions. The few rye connoisseurs can relax while they sip their award-winning Straight Rye Whiskey.

Oh, we aren’t done their Milam & Greene series features a Port Wine finished Rye or and Triple Cask Bourbon. I sense both of these whiskeys are bound for award glory.

While they have several expressions to choose from this particular concoction calls for a rye whiskey. So naturally, we used theirs.

Personally, I like a little less lemon and more cinnamon. As always experiment and with the ratios and whiskeys to find the perfect one for you.
