Whiskey Between the Sheets
The whiskey between the sheets is a class cognac cocktail. Since we don’t make cognac in Texas, it is now a whiskey drink. Now we call it whiskey between the sheets.
Whiskey Between the Sheets
Understanding the original cocktail uses a delicate and complex spirit. We would describe cognac as lighter than whiskey. With that, we want a whiskey that can blend with the ingredients instead of overpowering it.
For our whiskey between the sheets, we choose Nine Banded Wheated bourbon. The company does source the bourbon, but dont let that deter you; they are honest about it. With a mashbill of 51% corn, 45% wheat, and 4% malted barley, it is mellow on the palate. Also, at 90 proof, it plays well with the other ingredients.
We did leave out the lemon juice to avoid having a tart cocktail but feel free to add it in at .75 oz.
