Andalusia Mule
The Andalusia Mule is a delightfully fizzy drink. Made with fiery ginger beer, Andalusia Triple Distilled Whiskey, and fresh lime.
This drink falls into the buck or mule category of cocktails. A Buck or Mule is a mixed drink that involves ginger ale or ginger beer, citrus juice combined with a variety of base spirits. Like a smash follow this template to mix and match your own mules.
While you can make them with a variety of spirits the most famous mule of all is the Moscow Mule. A vodka-based mule made popular in the 1940s.
In a surprising story the Moscow mule was not made in some dim-lit speakeasy, but by a marketer or by a bartender getting rid of products that weren’t selling. Either way, it helped make vodka popular…I’m not sure that is something we should celebrate.
Anyway moving onto our version of the mule that we are calling the Andalusia Mule. We could have gone with a Texas Mule, but we love the flavor Andalusia Whiskey Co. Triple Distilled Whiskey adds to the cocktail. Plus you can get this in their taproom and it is delicious.
For those not familiar with this Blanco based distillery. Andalusia produces grain-to-glass single malt whiskeys in the Texas Hill Country that call upon deeply-rooted traditions of Irish and Scottish distilling. Plain and simple they make some damn good single malt whiskey.
Andalusia Mule
This cocktail is great for a hot day, but the spice from the ginger can make it a great holiday drink as well.
